Dancing With The Stars ALL STARS in 2022!

After doing the show in 2014 I never thought I would be strapping on those latin heels EVER AGAIN! But here we go again!!! After spending the better part of the last two years in my pjs on the couch like a sloth binge watching every show on the planet and eating ALL THE FOOD - the showgirl in me was well & truly ready to glam up and slip into some sequins! As soon as I started training I remembered just HOW HARD IT IS! We filmed the show in September/October and I had so much fun. I’m super excited for you all to see the awesome routines we did when the show airs on CH7 in February! xxx

RICKI-LEE RELEASES NEW SINGLE 'LAST NIGHT'!

IMG_7588.PNG

RICKI-LEE is back with a hot new BANGER sure to get you dancing and lift your mood from 0-100! Her new single LAST NIGHT, written with and produced by Throttle (Tell Me You Love Me & the hugely popular dance remix of Ed Sheeran’s Castle On The Hill and Hit The Road Jack) – ironically is a song written about finding someone you want to spend every waking moment with. ‘Being in iso made me realise how lucky I am to have a husband that I not only love…but I actually really like him!

The multi-platinum selling & ARIA nominated singer/songwriter is going back to her roots – with a brand new Dance/Pop anthem. Fresh off a sold-out tour across the country in 2019, Ricki-Lee was inspired by her fans to return to the sound that gave her 3x #1’s on the ARIA Dance Chart & UK Club Chart. “When I toured last year – it reminded me how much my fans love me for uplifting, feel-good music they can dance to! I played the State Theatre in Sydney, which is usually filled with quite a conservative crowd, but after the show they told me they had never seen a crowd jumping up and down and singing like that! And it made me realise I’ve gotta give the fans what they want, what they love!

A fan of Throttle’s music herself, Ricki-Lee & the popular DJ/Producer crossed paths when they were working in the same studio and arranged a session together – the very next day they wrote ‘Last Night’. “I’ve been listening to Throttle’s music basically every day for years – so to work with him was awesome, he’s just got such a fresh approach to making music, and it’s very similar to mine…we just wanna make music that makes people feel good!” she said.

The circumstances of the global pandemic COVID-19 in 2020 are unprecedented – but it hasn’t stopped Ricki-Lee. “Like so many others, everything we had lined up for the year literally just disappeared. But in all honesty, having this down time with no live shows and the filming of AUSTRALIA’S GOT TALENT being pushed back - I all of a sudden had all this free time on my hands, which gave me the opportunity to switch focus and finish this song, which I feel like is a blessing in disguise. I thought I’d use this time to not only be productive, but to put some feel good music out there into the world.”

LAST NIGHT – OUT NOW

I've got some BIG NEWS!

LAST NIGHT COVER ART.jpg

I’m so excited to tell you guys that I have been using my time in ISO wisely and I have been SUPER productive! I know it looks like I just lay around in a robe all day…and I’ll be honest…I kinda do! haha BUT it doesn't mean I haven’t been working hard!

I have secretly spent the last couple of months working on some new music - and I’m so excited to announce that my brand new single ‘LAST NIGHT’ will be out on June 12!!! I can’t wait for you to hear this song! You guys have been so patient waiting for me to put out new music - but I promise you it’s worth the wait!

You can Pre-Save & Pre-Add the song on Spotify & Apple Music NOW so that when you wake up in the morning on June 12 it’s right there in your library like a little present when you wake up! Here is the link: https://Ricki-Lee.lnk.to/LastNight

End Of Tour Wrap Up!

IMG_20191012_215844-01.jpg

Hey you guys!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to every single person who bought a ticket to come and see us on this tour! Every night I walked out on to that stage I gave you my everything - and every night I walked off that stage I was so grateful and honestly humbled by the love you guys have given me for the last 15 YEARS!

I don’t take it lightly, how long I’ve been in this business…and I know that it wouldn't be possible without each and every one of you. I try so hard to be the best I can be, to be able to provide you with a piece of music or a performance that makes you FEEL something, and takes you out of your everyday life where you can just enjoy yourself and get lost in the music. And when I am up on that stage looking out at you all - I feel so good and my heart is so full! It’s my favourite place to be, and I promise you I’m doing all I can to get more music out to you guys so we can see each other more often!

See…when I’m up on stage…I don’t feel like it’s YOU coming to see ME…to me, we are all coming together to celebrate a common thing…our love for my music…and with my music…I don’t see it as mine…because as much as I made it for me, I made it for you guys…so really, it’s OURS.  And when I do shows, there is an amazing feeling in the room because everyone is there to have a good time and we all are part of creating the energy in that room - the band on stage, the lighting and sound guys, the dancers, every cheer, every clap, every person who yells something out from the crowd, every person who sings along and every person who gets up and dances! I’m one small part of a big show but every piece of the puzzle is key in making it a great show! Sometimes if I’m having an off day…it’s everyone else that lifts me up! If someone in the audience is having a tough time…we all bring the energy to lift their spirits. If someone in my crew is struggling with something in their life…being on that stage is an incredible escape and a reminder that even when life is tough, we can still smile and laugh and have a good time.

I’ll quote myself here and say this “We’ve got it all, if we’ve got each other - and everything will be alright”. And I believe that as much now as the day I wrote those lyrics.

So to all of you - THANK YOU! I love you all & I’ll see you soon!

STATE THEATRE - 'Best show of my life'

All I can say is WOW.

I have wanted to play the State Theatre for 15 years – since I came to Sydney for the first time and drove past it! I had the pleasure of performing there about 11 years ago – for a Channel 10 tv special paying tribute to Burt Bacharach, and I got to perform ‘What The World Needs Now’ for Mr Bacharach himself. (TOTAL pinch me moment!) I’ve seen many shows there, including the incredible Tina Arena – so to play my very own show there was a dream come true.

Then came time for the actual show…and my oh my…walking in to the venue and sound checking, setting up and getting ready…I was SO NERVOUS! And as I walked out on the stage and sang my first line…the hand I was holding my microphone in, was SHAKING! But as soon as I heard your cheers, that nervous energy turned in to adrenaline and I just went HARD and gave you the best show I could possibly give you! I left EVERYTHING on that stage and you gave me SO MUCH LOVE! The best crowd of my career! There was so much love in that room and I think every single person felt it! Thank you so much for turning up and opening your hearts and letting go. I never take you guys for granted and I am so thankful for your love and support – and the fact that after 15 years I can still feel as nervous and excited as I was that very first time I walked out on to the stage on the first live final of Australian Idol to sing ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ – IS INSANE! I work hard to make music that you love and that speaks to you and your struggles, and I can promise you, I am trying my hardest to get some new music to you ASAP!!!

After the show – you guys sent me so many pictures, so I thought I’d share some of my faves here for you guys to see! Once again, THANK YOU for your love & support & loyalty…you mean the world to me.

Love, Ricki-Lee xxx

I wrote a letter to my mentor... my Dad <3

In this month’s Marie Clare magazine - six prominent Australians take the opportunity to say thank you to the person who encouraged them to fulfil their potential and become who they are today.

Ricki-Lee Coulter

Singer and Australia’s Got Talent host Ricki-Lee.

Dear John,

I didn’t have a dad growing up – and I didn’t know something was missing until you came into my life when I was eight. You came to Australia at 23, to play rugby with nothing but a backpack and a credit card. When we met, I’m sure I didn’t make it easy for you – I was protective of my mum. You were just a kid, you didn’t have to take me under your wing. But you did, instinctively, with such pride and with such ease – and slowly but surely you won my heart. As a child, you taught me how to use a knife and fork properly, you sat with me and did my homework and helped make sense of things that didn’t make sense. And I can safely say the reason I am the grammar police now is because of you!

You taught me manners and instilled in me so many of the core values that led to who I am today. You taught me the importance of honesty and sticking to your word. You taught me to be bold, to be adventurous, to have fun, to celebrate your wins and to put your head down and work even harder after losses. You challenged me in every single way – to be better, to think bigger, to go further. I remember the day you asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and I said a famous singer. You said singing was “just a hobby” but you also told me one of the most important things, “You can do anything you put your mind to. As long as you apply yourself, you can do it.” And you always led by example. I remember you going to a job interview and you hired a suit and a red Ford Capri, when really we had a Ford Falcon that sounded like it was about to explode. I watched you work your way up the ranks and eventually become a partner. The dedication and sacrifice it took to achieve that was such a huge lesson for me, and something I’ve had to do a lot of in my career. For a young girl who was used to feeling abandoned and at times unloved, you gave me time, showed me love, patience and, most importantly, guidance.

I know that I can always count on you. I know you’re my dad – so you’re supposed to be all those things. But I also know very well that being a dad doesn’t mean you actually will be. The way I see it is, you are all those things ... and the bonus on top of that is, you are my dad.

AGT!

B7EED167-E15D-4AA6-B334-D8DFFDA7BAE8.JPG

I’ve been having the time of my life hosting this show you guys!

When I was approached to be part of the show I was hesitant in the beginning because I was unsure if it was the right role for me and also to be honest if I really wanted to do it. But when I met with the team at Fremantle (who are also the people who produced Australian Idol & kickstarted my career) - and they showed me their vision and what the hosting role on this particular show entailed…I WAS IN! It is SO me! They really just wanted me to be myself and that is all I’ve done!

Through auditions I laughed, I cried, I danced like an idiot side stage, I dressed up like a kangaroo and twerked on stage, I held up parents who were crying their faces off while their kid was up there killing it, I tried to help those who were nervous and gave advice when people wanted it….all in all I have been having SO MUCH FUN!

Not only have I enjoyed witnessing some mind-blowing talent - I have also LOVED working with the amazing team that makes this show happen, and have made some great friends in the production team as well as the judges! This show has been a huge undertaking for everyone involved and I really want to shout out to my entire team for helping me feel AMAZING every time I walk out on that stage - my Stylist Lara Lupish who I have worked with for so long and she knows me so well and dresses my body so well - and my long time friend and Hair & Make Up artist Dale Dorning who is an absolute GUN and makes me feel like a million dollars every time I step on to that stage! Also my producers, Joe, Bethan and Gemma and also Digby & Jono from Fremantle who have all made me feel SO confident and comfortable in this crazy chaotic world!

I hope you guys are enjoying the show as much as I have been loving being part of it!!! Keep watching and sharing the love for the show!

Love, Ricki-Lee xxx

Australia’s Got Talent - 7pm Sunday Nights on Channel 7

Check out ya girl on the cover of WHO this week!

Look…it’s a tough life lounging around the house in gowns…and I ALWAYS look like this when I get out of bed………HAAAAAAAA! NOT! It only took 3 hours of hair and make up and a styling team to get me there! ;)

I LOVE LOVE LOVED this shoot and this incredible team! It’s so much fun playing dress ups!

Photographer: Jason Ierace | Stylist: Lara Lupish | Hair: Brad Mullins | Make Up: Kristyan Low

I'm the covergirl for Stellar!

I absolutely LOVED working with the dream team on this shoot - and doing something different, NO MAKE UP! I must admit, when they approached me with the idea of doing a shoot with no make up I thought…hmmmm… ”but then I won’t look as pretty”…but then my husband said to me…”you are the prettiest when you don’t wear make up!”. And I knew I was in good hands with the amazing team - so I said ‘fuck it - let’s do it!’. And I’m so glad I did. Steven Chee was the photographer - who is INCREDIBLE, and he shot me for Covergirl and I loved those photos so I was excited to work with him again. Kelly Hume was the stylist and style director, and I’ve worked with her SO many times before and every shoot we have ever done I’m obsessed with! I had the amazing Brad Mullins doing my hair and the gorgeous Kristyan Low prepping my skin so I had that glow going on! I love these pics SO MUCH! I hope you like them xxx
